Aproximately 4km south west of Koreiz lies the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka.

The Palace was built in The Vorontsovsky Palace was constructed from 1830-1848, to be used as a summer residence of the governor-general of the Novorossiysky Krai, Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov. Following twenty years of construction the Palace contained no less than 150 rooms. The Palace architecture is unusual in that it emanates several different styles of architecture including English Tudor influences, medieval walls, oriental details and British Indian colonial style. It was here that Churchill and his delegation stayed during the Yalta conference.
