Time Description of itinerary and objects
Day 1
9:00 Departure to Rivne.
13:00-14:00 Visit of Korets. The Korets Castle was built in 1400 by either Prince Theodor Ostrogski or Prince Dymitr Korybut. Its main tower is featured in the town's emblem. The moated castle on the bank of the Korchyk River was the seat of the princely House of Korets between the 15th and 17th centuries
16:00 Arrival in Rivne. Check-in the hotel, overnight
Day 2
09:00-12:00 Breakfast at hotel. Rivne panoramic city tour including visit to the Museum of Amber. Picturesque and cozy Rivne, one of the most ancient cities in Ukraine, could easily have been in the running for the title of the country’s most attractive place. But cruel history had other plans: the majority of is ancient buildings, which comprised its cultural heritage, were ruined or severely damaged during World War II. Fortunately, some of Rivne’s historic and architectural monuments survived, and are today – along with the city’s fantastic panoramas – its main treasure. Among them: monument to Maria Rovenskaya, Resurrection Cathedral, St. Antoniy Church, Dormition Church, Shevchenko park and legendary Museum of Amber.
14:00 Excursion to the Tunnel of Love. Tunnel of Love is a real botanic phenomenon: it’s formed of tree and bush overgrowth, which twisted each other and made an amazing tight tunnel of the exact arched form. There are plenty beliefs and legends about Tunnel and it’s features. Some of couples plant flowers here, that symbolize their feelings.
16:00 Return to Rivne, free time. Overnight
Day 3
10:00 Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Dubno.
11:00-13:00 Excursion to Dubno Castle. The most remarkable monument in Rivne region is a formidable Dubno Castle (1492) which consists of defensive shafts and bastions, palaces of Ostrog (XVI) and Liubomyr (XVIII).
14:30-16:00 Excursion to Tarakanovskyi Fort. This huge defensive fort was built in 1885-1890 and survived in two World wars and till now impresses by its sizes.
17:00 Return to Rivne. Overnight
Day 4
09:00 Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Kiev.
11:00 Visit of “Ukrainian Switzerland” Gubkov. Even if these places do not seem like Switzerland, but rocky shores, raging rapids and green hills still will not leave the connoisseurs indifferent. Sluch river will be interesting to fans of history: ruins of an ancient castle are towering on its banks, and along the river preserved concrete bunkers as the memory of a time when the river was the border between the USSR and Poland.
18:00 Arrival in Kiev.
