Gustynsky Holy Trinity Monastery was founded in 1600 by Kiev-Pechersk monk Joasaph on the lands of princes Vishnevetskiye. covered An island with dense forest was chosen for resettlement of the monastery. Location in a stiff terrain, as well as the system of fortifications with a moat and walls, - this all laid strategic importance to the monastery (it was used as a rebel’s base during the uprisings against Polish gentry). Gustynsky chronicle - the first general work on the history of Ukraine, connecting secular and hagiographical history of Rus – was established in the monastery

The estate which belonged once to the family of the famous Cossack leader Galagan survived till nowadays and is now one of the best examples of Ukrainan palace architecture (XIX century). It was used as an entertaining residence, being magnificently decorated and artistically designed. At the same time Austrian gardener Biesterfeld built around the palace a large park of 40 hectares with pergolas, church and burial place, dam and two bridges. In the palace there was a large art gallery, the unique collection of valuable utensils and weapons. Sokirintsy once called "Ukrainian Parnassus."
